experience

I have been practising psychotherapy for eleven years.

I undertook a four-year training at the Centre for Attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (CAPP) in London, which is a member organization of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I have many thousands of hours of clinical experience with all kinds of people suffering all kinds of symptoms: from highly dissociative adult survivors of prolonged sexual and physical abuse, to the everyday ‘something is wrong with me’ sort of person.

I am registered with the UKCP, and I am covered by the UKCP’s Code of Ethics.

I am accredited by CAPP as a supervisor of other psychotherapists. I am also a training therapist: that is, I am a therapist to those who are themselves training as psychotherapists.

I am a member of the International Association of Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.

I am a practitioner under supervision of EMDR - I am trained by Alexandra Richman, and now use EMDR in my practise to aid in the processing of traumatic episodes of all kinds including PTSD.

From 2002 to 2006, I was Chair of the Registration Board of the UK Council for Psychotherapy.
